Port forward (all UDP) 1701, 4500, 500 to Synology. Go to VPN Server. Click L2TP, enable with default settings, enter IKE Password. On iOS simply use your username and password as well as the host name and IKE password in the secret field -- that's it. Seriously isn't harder than that :)
